Grace Unfolding

Painted in 2019, working fast and almost furiously, as if it couldn't wait to exist. I used acrylics, inks, and clay-based paints, and at times found myself finger-painting, which is unusual for me, just to get the paint down fast enough to keep up.

For a while I wasn't sure how the geometry would resolve, and I thought the forms might clash. Instead a large spiral emerged, made of edges and angles that each flowed into the next. There was harmony in the contrast — soft and sharp, organic and geometric, effort and surrender.

The painting went untitled for a long time. A year later, with so much unfolding in all our lives, I looked at it and saw a reminder that I can lean into The Divine even when I don't know what's coming. The title took another couple of years to arrive: Grace Unfolding.

Looking at it now, I see the chapters of a life unfolding one after another, and I see a lesson in trust — letting creation happen without needing to control the outcome. The most beautiful things show up when I step aside and let The Divine lead the way.
